 Overview: SAR Unit, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. Our
search and rescue unit has provided assistance to law enforcement in Nebraska,
Iowa, Missouri and Kansas for the past 19 years. We utilize skilled handlers and
trained canines to locate missing persons and recover human remains.
Our services are provided to federal, state, county and city law agencies
free of charge. Our Unit also educates schools, churches, civic groups, law
enforcement, and fire and rescue teams by giving lectures, presentations,
seminars and demonstrations.
SAR Unit, Inc. has been training and
providing a limited number of service dogs to people with disabilities since
1993. As a companion program to our dog work, we provide hearing alert, seizure
alert, wheelchair assist, PTSD support, diabetic alert and therapy dogs to meet the specific needs of
individuals with disabilities. Each dog is selected and trained to match with
each recipient.

The growth and continuation of the SAR Unit is dependent on the support of
community businesses, civic organizations and individuals.
Area Served: Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas
  
Dogs and Types: Bloodhounds and Labrador Retrievers. Puppies are
carefully screened and selected for training to become a SAR Unit canine.
Training starts as early as birth and continues for the life of the dog.
Experience: Unit canines have participated in over 450 searches and
assisted in the Oklahoma City bombing as well as the attack on New York City.
